We have been working alongside IMG on numerous UFC events for many years now with the first back in 2002 at the Royal Albert Hall. Most recently, we’ve delivered catering to two UFC events held at London’s O2.

Here, account manager George Mitchell shares some insight into how the team will approaching the upcoming event in Paris.

The UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) is one of the largest fighting organisations in the world and is the largest MMA promotion in the world. It produces worldwide events showcasing the best of the best across 12 weight divisions. This month the UFC will head to the Accor Arena in Paris, where the main event is a heavyweight bout between local man Ciryl Gane and Moldova’s Serghei Spivac.

For the Paris event, we’ll be pairing regular team members with local crew, some of whom we have worked with on previous events in the city. It’s always good to welcome back familiar faces.

Our team will be serving upwards of 850 meals across this event to the hardworking crew and media team. Some of the delicious dishes on the menu include:

  • Dijon and cognac beef stew, served with crushed new potatoes and healthy greens
  • Beef Massaman served with rice
  • Caramelised red onion tart with/without goat cheese

We will also be supporting the production team and delivering multiple dressing rooms requirements for the athletes. Our team on the ground will be working hard to fulfil all their requirements.

As mentioned before, we have already worked on two UFC events in London this year in March and July and I was fortunate enough to visit both of them. The event in March was a huge sold out pay per view event at the O2 which saw Leon Edwards beat Kamaru Usman for the second time to retain his welterweight title. When I visited the O2 it was a real eye opener and great to see the vast numbers of crew that work so hard setting up the stage and the surrounding areas for such a large sporting event.

This really is a great sporting event that all the team loves being a part of. Hopefully we can continue our relationship with our client and continue working on these amazing UFC events for many more years to come.
